Find your move into traditional dance form with our Clogging Classes at Tanya’s Dance Company. Clogging is a folk dance that emphasizes the rhythmic beating of the dancer’s feet on the floor. This dance is done in time with the downbeat of the music, with the heel keeping the rhythm. The toe and heel movements occur on the upbeat of the music followed by the heel, which occurs on the downbeat. Students learn to sync with the beat of the music, using their feet to produce striking rhythmic patterns.

Hip hop dance is a funk style dance that has an urban background. It covers gliding, popping, locking, and breaking movements. This class breaks down the basics of breakdancing and fuses together today’s latest hip hop and funk styles mixed with old school movements and stunts. This style of dance trains dancers to develop a strong use of body isolation.

Move to the rhythm of your body in our Jazz Dance Class at Tanya’s Dance Company. Ranging from a cool lyrical base to a very stylized form of jazz, this class is a mixture of ballet, modern and ethnic techniques. Improving technique and flexibility, we focus on advanced steps and progressions. Perfect for dancers looking to refine their skills and technique, Jazz/Lyrical Class offers targeted exercises, both across the floor and stationary, enhancing abilities to perform complex movements with precision and emotional depth. This class will also focus on taking simple steps to another level that pushes that students’ range of motion, stamina, precision, and attack. Our seasoned instructors guide students to push boundaries, develop confidence and genuine connection to the art of movement.

Turn emotions into motions in our Lyrical Dance Class. At Tanya’s Dance Company, we encourage students to connect with music and the story it is trying to tell. This particular dance style is all about that, and at the same time, fuses together the techniques of both jazz and ballet. Students will learn about understanding the lyrics of the song and how to relate it into movement. This style is perfect for dancers who are not only interested in technique but also in conveying emotion and storytelling through their performances.

Join the footloose festival in our Tap Dance Classes here at Tanya’s Dance Company. This class focuses on rhythm and sound, emphasizing rhythm, tempo, timing, counting and basic coordination. Our tap classes offer the fundamentals in correct technique and can advance to trick steps such as wings, over the tops, pullbacks as well as rhythm turns and progressions across the floor and in center. Enhance your footwork and tap into your potential.

Experience elegance in pairs with our Ballroom Dance Classes. This class introduces students to the basics of the Salsa, Rumba, Waltz, Tango and Foxtrol, emphasizing posture, frame and smooth flowing movements that characterize ballroom dancing. Students not only learn steps but also the art of dance in partnership, building confidence in social settings as well as coordination.

Musical theater teaches the fundamentals of various dance styles, such as jazz, tap, ballet, and/or contemporary dance techniques, and puts the choreography together in a musical theater production. Students will learn to interpret music, convey emotions, and work on performance skills such as stage presence and character development while emphasizing storytelling through movement and expression.

This class is designed to help our dancers improve flexibility, build muscle strength, and enhance overall dance performance.  Through a combination of dynamic stretching exercises and targeted strength training routines, you will work on increasing your range of motion while helping improve technique.

This unique class offers a blend of two exciting styles, alternating weekly between improvisational movement exploration and collaborative partnering techniques. During the Improv class, dancers will be led through guided exercises and prompts and break free from choreographed routines to tap into their unique artistry.  The Partnering class will dive into the art of dance collaboration and connection while exploring lifts.  This class fosters trust, communication and teamwork.
